DNS/Redirecting Requests

DNS Requests are simple.Keep Calm and Check Twice and Once more.

First the process of changing DNS records for support is limited to only point client domains to our sites. Any other type of DNS changing should be queried before action is taken.

First Step.

You will need login credentials, the domain name (jesse.com) and the agency name(JesseFun) or URL (jessefun.gttwl2.com) in our system.

Check the request or ticket if any are given and check them if not politely ask the client for them.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOGIN MORE THAN THREE TIMES.

As policy attempt to login should only be done three times anymore could risk a lockout from the system and further delay in carrying out the request.

If after 3 attempts if credentials are not working, contact the client to check the credentials.

I encourage screenshots in replying as most clients would appreciate the visual aid.

Second Step.

If you are able to login navigate to where you are able to locate the Domain name and DNS records you are changing. In this example lets say you see three domain names:

  • jesse.com
  • jesse.ca
  • jessefun.com

To know which Domain to work with check in the request for which domain name is mentioned.

After you know which domain name to work with the best advice on how to navigate to the DNS records to change them is to GOOGLE IT.

Here are a few links to start you off.

Third Step.

Refer to this link on how to change DNS records for Travel Agency Tribes.

Fourth Step.

Reply to Client that the DNS records have been changed once you have tested everything Twice.
